SWEET & SOUR CHICKEN

3 lbs. chicken breasts
1 t. garlic salt
½ t. pepper
1 egg, beaten
3 ½ T. ketchup

4-6 T. cornstarch or flour
¾ c. sugar
½ c. vinegar
½ c. chicken stock
1 T. soy sauce

Sprinkle chicken with garlic salt & pepper. Let stand for 1 hr. Preheat oven to 325. Dip chicken in beaten egg, then in cornstarch or flour. Brown in hot oil. Place in baking dish. Cover with the following sauce: Mix sugar, vinegar, chicken stock, ketchup, & soy sauce in saucepan & heat. Pour over chicken. Bake uncovered for 1 hr. Turn chicken once or twice.
