1 ½ c. sugar
2/3 c. butter, soft (or shortening)
2 eggs, beaten
2 T. milk
½ t. salt
2 ½ t. baking powder
1 t. vanilla
Cream sugar & butter. Add eggs, milk, & vanilla. Add dry ingredients. Cover & refrigerate 2-3 hrs. (or overnight). Grease cookie sheets lightly. On floured board, roll 1/2 dough out at a time (keep other ½ in fridge). For softer cookies roll 1/8” to ¼” thick. Cut out. Bake at 400 for about 8 min. or till edges are very light brown. Frost.
Yield: 6 dozen cookies
