2 c. sugar
1 ½ c. shortening or butter
3 eggs
1 ½ t. vanilla
1 ½ t. baking powder
1 ½ t. salt
4 ½ c. flour
Cream shortening & sugar. Add eggs. Add vanilla. Add dry ingredients. Drop by teaspoon in a bowl of sugar & roll in sugar (or shake in a little bag) before putting on cookie sheet. DO NOT OVERBAKE!! Remove from cookie sheet immediately after baking. Bake at 375 for 10 min.
*These can also be rolled in cinnamon sugar instead or sugar.
*Almond flavoring can be added (quite a lot).
*Lemon flavoring is good also.
*Orange flavoring is good also
*Frost if desired.
(When I make a batch I usually divide dough into fourths to make some of each flavor cookie – adding food coloring to each flavor accordingly).
