2 c. raisins                                                                   
2/3 c. water                                                                 
1 c. sugar                                                                    
½ c. shortening                                                
2 eggs                                                                         
2 ½ - 3 c. flour                                                            
1 c. rolled oats
1 t. nutmeg
1/3 t. salt
1 t. soda
1 t. cinnamon
1/3 t. cloves
½ t. baking powder
Boil raisins 2 min. in the water. Save 1/3 c. juice or a little more. Cream sugar & shortening. Add eggs & beat well. Add dry ingredients. Add raisins & liquid. Add 1 c. nuts & 1 t. vanilla. Drop on greased pan. Bake at 375 for 10-15 min.
