1 c. sugar
1 c. butter
¾ c. chopped nuts
3 T. water
1 T. light corn syrup
1 giant Hershey bar (grated)
Mix sugar, water, butter, & corn syrup. Bring to a boil. Cover with lid for 3 min. Take off lid and DO NOT STIR AFTER REMOVING THE LID. Cook until color is darkened and it just begins to smoke (or you can test in cold water to the crack stage). Take mixture off heat.
While syrup is cooking, sprinkle half of the nuts in the bottom of a 9 x 13 pan & then half of the grated chocolate bar.
Pour cooked syrup over top of the nuts & chocolate. Sprinkle the remaining chocolate bar on top. When it has melted, smooth it out & sprinkle remaining nuts on top. Cool & refrigerate until set. Break into pieces.
