ROCKY ROAD FUDGE BARS

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease & flour a 9 x 13 pan.

Layer 1: BAR: In a large saucepan melt together:

½ c. water
3 T. cocoa

Add: ½ c. margarine
1 c. sugar
1 c. flour
1 t. baking powder
1 t. vanilla
2 eggs (or 1 lg. egg)
½ c. chopped nuts

Mix well & spread in pan.


Layer 2: Sprinkle on bar:

6 oz. (1 c.) semi-sweet chocolate chips


Layer 3: Filling. In small bowl combine:

6 oz. cream cheese
½ c. sugar
2 T. flour
½ c. margarine, softened
1 egg
½ t. vanilla
¼ c. nuts

Blend until smooth & fluffy. Spread over chocolate chips. Bake at 350 for 25-35 min. or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.


Layer 4: Sprinkle with:

2 c. miniature marshmallows

Return to oven & bake 2 min. longer. Remove from oven & cool.


Layer 5: Frosting. Melt together:

¼ c. margarine
3 T. cocoa
2 oz. cream cheese
2 T. milk

Add: 3 c. powdered sugar
1 t. vanilla

Stir until smooth. Spread on cooled bars.
