LION HOUSE MEAT LOAF

2 lb. lean ground beef
3 eggs, beaten slightly
Sauce (below)
1 t. salt
¾ c. dry bread crumbs

Mix ground beef, salt, eggs, bread crumbs, & half the sauce until well blended. Mold into one large or two small loaf pans. Bake at 350 for 1 ½ hrs. for large loaf, and about 1 hr. for smaller ones. Remove from oven & allow to stand for 10 min. for easier slicing. Serve with remaining sauce.

SAUCE

½ c. chopped onion
2 T. shortening
1 can tomato soup
1 t. Worcestershire sauce
¼ c. water
few grains pepper

Saute onions in shortening until tender. Add soup, Worcestershire sauce, pepper, & water. Simmer a few minutes to blend flavors.
